Economic evaluation of health care programs provides very essential information as input into decision-making process. In at least seven European countries there are formal requirements for submitting health economic data in the pricing and/or reimbursement processes. Also the Polish Act of 27 Sept. 2004 on Medical Services Financed From Healthcare Budget (Ustawa o swiadczeniach opieki zdrowotnej finansowanych ze srodków publicznych; Dziennik Ustaw Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z dnia 27 wrzesnia 2004 roku (Dz.U. Nr 210, poz. 2135) specifies that submissions for reimbursement of pharmaceuticals and other medical products should contain “analysis of clinical effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and budget impact”…

    Educational program    
     Phramacoeconomics in practice, which contains three modules:    
 Module I: Measurement and valuation  of costs and outcomes of health care programs
 Module II: Modelling or trial-based economic evaluation: methods of conducting economic evaluation of health care programs. Outcomes studies.
 Module III:

 

Rational medical decision making: integration of evidence on eficacy, safety, cost-effectiveness and affordability of health care programs.

    Each module includes a number of practical exercises highlighting real-life applications and offering opportunity for the participants to verify and establish the theoretical information and to get the practical skills for solution of a problem.
