GENERAL INFORMATION
Farmakoekonomika is the professional journal of pharmacoeonomics and associated disciplines, published from 1997.
The mission of the journal
Farmakoekonomika promotes the development of pharmacoeconomic studies and provides a forum for dissemination of knowledge and research in pharmacoeconomics. There are presented theoretical and practical issues relevant to measurement and analysis of outcomes and costs of healthcare interventions, assessment of health-related outcomes, quality of life and assessment of value in health care.
The journal includes:
- original papers (clinical-economic trials, data-base analyses, modeling studies),
- review articles (critical reviews of literature relating to the pharmacoeconomic and quality of life assessment of both innovative and established healthcare interventions and their outcomes),
- current opinion articles providing an overview of emerging or controversial issues in pharmacoeconomics.
All manuscripts submitted are the subject to peer review by international experts. Letters to the Editor are welcomed and will be considered for publication. Comments on published paper are passed to the Authors.

Processing of the manuscript for peer review will begin only once a signed Copyright Assignment form has been received for each author of the manuscript (this form is available at: http://www.farmakoekonomika.edu.pl.). A faxed copy of this competed and signed form is acceptable; fax: 48 (22) 648 90 48.
Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following practice:
Cover letter
The cover letter should include:1) title of the manuscript; 2) name of the document file(s) containing the manuscript and the software (and version used); 3) name and all contact information for the corresponding author; 4) the statement as to whether the data, models, or methodology used in the research are proprietary; 4) names of all sponsors of the research.
Manuscript
Manuscripts must be written in Polish or English, typed in Microsoft Word (version 5.0 or latter). Minimal formatting should be used. There is no limit on manuscript length, but length in terms of clarity and conciseness will be considered in the editorial process.
Title page
The title page should contain the following: 1) title; 2) full names (first and surname) of all authors including academic degrees and affiliation(s); 3) name, mailing and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers of corresponding author; 4) all sources of financial or other support for the manuscript; 5) at least four key words for indexing purposes; 6) running title of no more than 72 characters including spaces.
Abstract
Each paper should be preceded by abstracts of 250 words or less, in Polish and English (English only for manuscripts in English). Abstract should use a structured format (i.e. Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions).
Text
The body of the manuscript should be divided into sections that facilitate reading and comprehension of the material. This should normally include sections with the major headings: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Acknowledgments (if needed), References, Figures and Tables. References must be numbered with Arabic numerals in square brackets in the text, and listed in the reference section in the order in which they are cited. Tables and figures must be cited in the text, and numbered in Arabic numerals in the order in which they are cited.
Tables and figures
Each table and figure should be presented on separate page and clearly labelled (number, title, explanations). All abbreviations must be explained in the legend below each table or figure. Previously published tables or figures must be accompanied by written authorization for their use and the original source must be named in the legend.
References
References should be listed in a separate section and numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals in the order in which they are cited in the text. Reference style should follow that of Index Medicus. If there are more than four authors, use only the names of the first three, followed by et al. The most common types of references are illustrated below for example.

The review process
All manuscripts deemed appropriate for Farmakoekonomika after initial screening will be reviewed. The review process should be completed within 12 weeks of submission. At this time the corresponding Author will receive written notification, including reviewer commentary.
